KFC "Finger Lickin' Chicken Mitten Bucket Hugger"

KFC Finger Lickin’ Chicken Mitten Bucket Hugger

So, what’s the story?

To coincide with the launch of KFC Quick Pick Up, we were asked to create a holiday campaign to highlight the launch of this new service.

What did we do?

We did our research, crunched the numbers, and discovered a key insight.

When people walk from their car to the restaurant for Quick Pick Up, their poor chicken gets cold from the harsh winter winds. Our KFC fans are able to bundle up in the cold weather, so let’s give them a way to bundle up their buckets.

And so, the “Finger Lickin’ Chicken Mitten Bucket Hugger” was born. Our engineers crafted an ingenious new device— a sweater for your bucket, and mittens for your hands. Now, your chicken can stay warm and extra crispy from the car all the way to your table!

However, as we planned out our photoshoot for the promotional materials, we ran into a problem. The KFC team was unable to find enough models to hold the bucket on such short notice! So naturally, they asked their gorgeous, talented, photogenic art director Devon Anderson to join them for the photoshoot!

Wait, who made the Bucket Hugger song?

Surprise, me again! In order to stand out from the crowd of case study films this award season, the KFC creative team had the idea to turn the case study script into a Finger Lickin’ Good Christmas jingle. As a musician in my free time, I took the challenge of writing, singing, and producing the track in my home studio, along with creating the storyboard for the motion graphics in the video.
